Items

Items are objects in Space Engineers that can be held by the player or deposited into an inventory. They fall into one of four categories:

• Ore: ores are unrefined substances obtained by mining Asteroids or looting Pre-Built Ships.
• Material: materials are the product of refining ores.
• Component: components are assembled from materials; they are used to construct the blocks that make up ships and stations.
• Tool: tools are also assembled from materials; they are useful items that are either operated by the player or used by certain blocks.
